DOC POWELL: Grammy Nominated Guitarist Doc Powell spent 15 years recording and performing live with the legendary Luther Vandross. His signature guitar sound is featured on many of Vandross biggest hits. As a solo artist, Doc has recorded 11 successful projects featuring such guest as Bob James, Gerald Albright, Patrice Rushen, Boney James. Kirk Whalum and Dave Koz. In 2009, Doc was hand-picked to be part of the band for the history-making Mo'Nique show. As a sideman, Powell has performed along side such superstars as: Prince, Alicia Keys, Aretha Franklin, Wycliff Jean, Kirk Franklin, Jennifer Hudson, Patti Labelle, Mariah Carey, John Legend, Anita Baker and Mary, Mary. With all these accomplishments, there is still so much more to this musical chameleon, which he plans to share with his fans on this blog.
